European Festival of the First Novel
The 15th European Festival of the First Novel takes place from May 4 to May 7, 2017
From May 4-7, 2017, the Ars Baltica acclaimed project “European Festival of the First Novel” takes place in Kiel again. Since 2003 new prose from ten European countries forms the heart of the European Festival of the First Novel. Ten novelists and their editors as well as other professionals of the literary world are gathering in Schleswig-Holstein to discuss writing and publishing, to acquaint themselves with new novels, and maybe pave the way for translation.
The opening reading gala, meetings with students at the Christian-Albrechts-university, and the following literary conference are giving the participants, the public audience, and the conference guests a forum for exchange on literature, language and ways of promoting and transferring literature in Europe.
